If you have a kid between the ages of four and ten, then you probably know what webkinz are. I swore I wouldn't be swept away by them, but, ahem, I did.
It's a fair possibility that I love them more then my kids! Here's our current collection.
Twelve for little girl. Nine for little boy. Two for me.
Plus two more, waiting, in Mommy's Closet Store of Retired Webkinz. (The Closet Store was my brainstorm so I could buy the retired webkinz but didn't feel like I was spoiling the kids! They can see them and then they can save their money or get them at gift giving occasions. But at least I have them and won't miss out on a retired one like I almost did for the Pink Dragon. (by the way, if you are a webkinz fan, the Pink Dragon will be released again in October!! Thank goodness, I couldn't face another sobbing little girl when she realized we missed her ESPECIALLY when I *almost* bought it the month before but bought the little white mouse instead!!))
And as you can see . . . I'm obsessed! I love their cute little faces. I love watching the kids play with them. I love playing the games on the computer. I love sending them gifts. I love watching them figure out puzzles and checkers and Battleship.
Webkinz may be a silly little stuffed animal but they have brought us HOURS and HOURS of happy times! Thanks Webkinz!

My goodness I'm glad we don't have those here in NZ. I'd imagined them to be much smaller than that - look at all the space they take up!
Awww! They are sooo cute!!
I'm so glad we don't have the whole Webkinz thing in our house. No stuffed animals allowed except extra super duper special ones because we have lots of allergies. Even the very few the boys have take a weekly trip to the freezer.
DD's, my mother & I were sucked in....it's my MIL's fault. She bought me the Frog Lil Kinz for Christmas this past year...then hubby bought oldest DD the Husky (and he's named Jake; she's a HUGE Twilight freak! LOL)...now youngest girl has last month's Webkinz of the Month, the Clydesdale (named Bella), and my mother has the Elephant....keepin' it in the family!! LOL

urge
Webkinz are alowed in our house, but on a limited basis lest I become obsessed. Self control. Self control.
omg, BOTH my kids love Webkinz and my eldest is 14!
But my youngest is just enthralled with them. But I just found out about the expiration thing ... they're good for a year and then you need to buy another one before the year is up to extend their playing time? Something like that - I'm not sure.
All I know is the look of utter dread on my youngest's face when she thought she wouldn't be able to play anymore was enough to make me throw all my charge cards at the nearest retail store so I could buy the first one I could find.
I think if you look closely enough, the word "sucker" is imprinted somewhere on my forehead. Good thing WK are cute!
